Privacy-first by design
All BetterPass tools run entirely in your browser using the Web Crypto API. Your sensitive data — passwords, hashes, tokens, and any tool output — never leaves your device. (The breach checker is the sole exception: it sends the first 5 hex characters of a SHA-1 hash to the Have I Been Pwned API using k-anonymity — your actual password never leaves your browser.)
We do not have servers that process, store, or log generated passwords, passphrases, hashes, encoded data, or any other tool results.
This policy covers the limited data that is collected when you visit the website or use the contact form.
What We Do NOT Collect
Because all processing happens client-side, we physically cannot access this data. There is no backend endpoint that receives your tool input or output.
What We Collect and Why
Contact Form
When you submit a message through our contact page, we collect your name, email address, phone number (if provided), and message. This data is sent to us via email solely to respond to your inquiry. It is not used for marketing, shared with third parties, or added to any mailing list.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics to collect anonymous, aggregated usage data such as page views, browser type, and general geographic region. This helps us understand which tools are most popular and improve the site. No tool input or output is ever sent to analytics.
Google Analytics may set cookies to recognize returning visitors. You can opt out via your browser settings or the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.Learn more.
Advertising
If enabled, Google AdSense may serve ads and use cookies to personalize ad content based on your browsing history. No tool data is shared with advertisers. You can manage ad personalization settingshere.
Essential Cookies
We store a single cookie to remember your theme preference (light/dark mode). This is strictly functional and does not track you.
How We Use Your Information
The limited information we collect is used only for:
- Responding to your contact inquiries
- Improving the website based on anonymous usage patterns

We do not sell your personal information, use it for marketing emails, create user profiles, or share it with third parties except as required by law.
Data Retention
Contact form submissions are retained only as long as needed to address your inquiry and then deleted. Anonymous analytics data is retained per Google Analytics' standard retention policies. We do not maintain any database of user activity or tool usage.

Third-Party Services

- Vercel — hosting platform (server logs may include IP addresses)
- Google Analytics — anonymous usage analytics
- Google AdSense — advertising (if enabled)

Security
We use HTTPS to encrypt all communication between your browser and our servers. Because your tool data never leaves your browser, there is no risk of server-side data breaches exposing your passwords or other sensitive information.
Children's Privacy
Our Service does not address anyone under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
